Land Dragon [[Antharas]] is one of the six Great Dragons born among curses by [[Shilen]] shortly after she had been expelled from the abode of the gods. When Shilen, full of hatred, wanted to take revenge for her humiliation and went to war against the gods, Antharas was with her, fighting in the foremost front. Although being an extremely fierce creature, the dragon got severely injured and flew down to the earth, where he hid in a cave not very far from what is now the [[Town of Giran]], waiting there for the day of Shilen's resurrection.

The huge size of Antharas surpasses that of most other evil beasts and is only matched by that of his siblings Valakas and Lindvior. Even a very powerful sword would not easily inflict damage upon the body of the dragon, so densely is it covered with rock-hard scales. Beams of light emitted from the monster's eyes cause those who gaze upon it to freeze in horror. Antharas is fittingly regarded by all adventurers as the ultimate symbol of pure terror. Later, when [[Shunaiman]]'s Seven Seals, constantly fought over by the Human factions, started to weaken, [[Shilen]]'s influence grew in the lands of Aden and Elmore. In order to protect her child from the reckless adventurers ceaselessly pestering him, she bestowed on Antharas protective magic and gave him far more strength than he ever had.

Three Watchmen, all of them members of the [[Guardians of the Seal]], keep an eye on the sleeping dragon. For any adventurers intending to challenge Antharas there is only one way into his cave, the so-called "Heart of Warding", a doorway created by the Guardians of the Seal when the dragon was locked up. It can only be activated with a Portal Stone that is given by Antharas Watchman [[Theodric]] to those who have been approved by the Guardians. The way to gain that approval is a long and dangerous one. Anybody wishing for an [[Audience with the Land Dragon]] should talk to [[Gabrielle]], the representative of the Guardians of the Seal in [[Town of Giran|Giran]].
