Doctor Chaos, a mad scientist from the Black Anvil Guild, occasionally shows up near the Archaic Laboratory resp. the Pavel Ruins, not far from his former secretary Wendy. Doctor Chaos had been dispatched by his guild together with a huge interdisciplinary team of Dwarves to the Pavel Ruins where they were supposed to investigate the Starstone deposits in the area. The Maestro succeeded in reactivating the equipment in Pavel's old Laboratory and built an excavator golem that the Dwarves used to set up a strip mine near the Laboratory buildings. But then an explosion occured that destroyed most of the north wing of Pavel's Laboratory. Doctor Chaos was accused of having triggered that explosion and expelled from the Black Anvil Guild. He swore revenge on the Black Anvil Guild, styling himself as the "Emperor of Evil", with his ultimate goal being nothing short of world domination. Doctor Chaos views all outsiders as assassins sent by the Black Anvil Guild; when someone tries to talk to him, he breaks out in wild curses, runs away to his shed and comes back with his Gigantic Chaos Golem.
