The Ice Merchant Cabin is a very old building. During the Dwarven Kingdom, when the Frozen Labyrinth was still the Summer Labyrinth, this cabin was the hunting lodge of the governor of Schuttgart. Later, during the Elmoreden Empire, a magical accident involving Princess Melissa and Gran Kain turned the Summer Labyrinth into the frozen landscape we know today. The first thing a visitor to the Ice Merchant Cabin nowadays notices is the force field surrounding it, creating a patch of green right in the center of the Frozen Labyrinth. This effect is especially visible when one approaches the Ice Merchant Cabin at night.

Ice Merchant Rafforty is apparently not quite the harmless businessman he pretends to be. This suspicion is confirmed when a visitor looks upward. The four "teeth" surrounding the Ice Merchant Cabin are not natural rock formations at all but elaborate man-made towers.

The style of the horizontal tracery is somehow reminiscent of the Tower of Insolence, which would date this structure back to the days of the Elmoreden Empire. At the moment it is not known, however, whether those "teeth" were already part of the Summer Labyrinth, predating Princess Melissa's magical accident, or whether they were built by the Zinnia Guild to protect their outpost against the encroaching frost.
